Minister of Public Works and Transportation Fayez Rasamny reassured that the situation at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport is normal, confirming that Middle East Airlines continues to operate its flights regularly and that all flights are being carried out according to their scheduled timetables.
Minister Rasamny said that meetings are being held intensively to follow up on developments, especially regarding airport activity and the measures taken to maintain the continuity of operations there.
The minister also stressed the importance of Lebanon having a second airport, particularly in exceptional circumstances, because of its role in ensuring the continuity of air transport.
Rasamny added that the infrastructure is still protected so far, noting that the ministry has prepared an emergency plan to deal with any possible targeting.
