Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received a delegation from the Union of Bakeries’ Syndicates in Lebanon headed by Nasser Srour, in the presence of Economy and Trade Minister, Amer Bisat, with whom he discussed the stability of bread supply during the current period.
After the meeting, Srour said discussions focused on ensuring that bread is neither hoarded nor disrupted in any region.
He noted that flour and wheat stocks in Lebanon are sufficient for more than three months, including supplies held in mills, bakeries and shipments currently at sea.
Srour added that talks also addressed the issue of rising bread prices, stressing that any increase must remain objective, take into account citizens’ difficult circumstances and avoid placing additional pressure on them.
