Iran’s permanent UN envoy, Amir Saeed Irvani, announced the killing of four Iranian diplomats in Beirut as a result of an Israeli airstrike.
In a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Irvani explained that “the four Iranian diplomats were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut on the morning of March 8.”
The letter stated, “In the early hours of Sunday, March 8, 2026, the Israeli regime carried out a deliberate terrorist attack on the Ramada Hotel in Raoucheh, Beirut, resulting in the deaths of four diplomats from the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Meanwhile, the UN Refugee Agency noted that “the lives of many in Lebanon have been turned upside down amid the ongoing regional conflict.”
