Adraee to Lebanese: “Our War Is Not Against You or Lebanon”
Israeli Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee wrote on his X account, addressing the Lebanese people:
“People of Lebanon, heirs to a rich history from the legendary Cadmus, who taught the world the alphabet, to Gibran Khalil Gibran, who celebrated love and freedom, and those who sang with the iconic Fairuz of glory and dignity, I speak to you today recognizing the value of your enduring civilization. Our war is not against you, nor against Lebanon, which we respect. Our battle is against the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and its mercenaries in Hezbollah, who have violated your sovereignty and turned your land into missile platforms and warehouses of death serving the mullahs’ regime. As Fairuz sang, ‘O freedom, O fiery flower,’ the dawn of true freedom begins with freeing your land from dependency and darkness.”
Adraee added that the Israeli army strikes anyone who threatens its security but offers reason to every Lebanese who refuses to be used as fuel for the mullahs’ fire. He said the time has come for Lebanon to return to its people, free, sovereign, independent, and a beacon of civilization as it has always been.
