Minister Morcos visits Doha to strengthen media cooperation between Lebanon and Qatar
Minister of Information, Dr. Paul Morcos, visited the Qatari capital, Doha, yesterday, where he held a series of meetings with several Qatari officials aimed at strengthening media relations between Lebanon and Qatar and expand prospects for mutual cooperation.
Minister Morcos met with the Chairman of Qatar Media Corporation, Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in the media sector. He also thanked him for inviting him to visit Doha.
Morcos also met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari, and CEO of Qatar Media Corporation Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz bin Jassim Al Thani, in the presence of Lebanon’s Ambassador to Qatar, Bilal Qabalan, as well as several media professionals and journalists.
The meetings addressed the current state of the media sector and prospects for strengthening cooperation between media institutions in both countries, particularly with Radio Lebanon, which is undergoing a new phase of development.
Minister Morcos also attended a ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of the launch of Al Jazeera Media Network, held under the patronage and in the presence of Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
On the sidelines of the event, Morcos met with Saudi Deputy Minister of Media Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlooth to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations.
The Minister also met Lebanese media professionals working in Qatar.
