Housing Bank Seeks Finance Ministry Support for New Funding and Fee Relief
Chairman and General Manager of the Housing Bank, Antoine Habib, met Finance Minister Yassine Jaber to discuss securing new financing from Arab development funds to sustain housing loans for low- and middle-income families and people with disabilities.
Talks also covered the bank’s request to exempt its borrowers from property registration fees, with Jaber expressing support for the proposal as a way to ease financial burdens and facilitate home ownership.
Both sides also highlighted the importance of the existing electronic link between the Finance Ministry and the Housing Bank, which enables borrowers to obtain property ownership clearance certificates online, accelerating loan procedures.
