Khatib meets Jumblatt, calls for dialogue
Deputy Head of the Higher Islamic Shiite Council Ali Al-Khatib received MP Taymour Jumblatt and a Progressive Socialist Party delegation to discuss developments amid ongoing Israeli attacks.
The delegation stressed prioritizing dialogue, avoiding internal tensions, and unifying the national stance, particularly on negotiations, ceasefire implementation, Israeli withdrawal, and reconstruction.
Al-Khatib highlighted the importance of consensus to strengthen Lebanon’s position and prevent divisions from spilling into the street.
MP Wael Abou Faour said the visit aimed to build internal safeguards and a unified approach to challenges.
