During a visit by a delegation from Lebanon’s Economic, Social and Environmental Council to Algeria to participate in meetings of the Union of Arab Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions, Council President Charles Arbid, accompanied by Consul Mohammad Al-Jouzo, head of the Council’s Expatriates and Foreign Relations Committee, held a series of meetings with Algerian officials.
Arbid met with Industry Minister Professor Farid Kourtel for a working session focused on ways to strengthen industrial and investment cooperation between Lebanon and Algeria, as well as the opportunities offered by the Algerian market. They also discussed the importance of communication among economic stakeholders to establish joint projects and partnerships between the two countries.
He also met with Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion Professor Kamel Rezig, with discussions focusing on ways to develop trade exchanges and open new avenues for cooperation between Lebanese and Algerian businesspeople and economic institutions, as well as boosting the presence of products and services from both countries in their respective markets and across African markets.
The meetings underscored the importance of building on existing opportunities and elevating economic and trade cooperation to the level of the strong fraternal ties between Lebanon and Algeria.
