Jishi says US failed to achieve Iran war goals
MP Hussein Jishi of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to the Resistance bloc said the United States had failed to achieve its stated objectives after seven months of war with Iran and was now seeking even a symbolic victory.
Speaking at a Hezbollah memorial ceremony in Burj al-Shamali, Jishi argued that Iran retained the regional initiative and cited developments in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab and Strait of Hormuz.
He also criticized President Joseph Aoun’s approach, saying he had misjudged regional developments by pursuing direct negotiations with Israel.
