Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri met with French Ambassador to Lebanon Hervé Magro at the Second Presidency headquarters in Ain el-Tineh to discuss political and field developments amid Israel’s ongoing attacks on Lebanon.
The meeting was held in the presence of Berri’s adviser Mahmoud Berri and focused on diplomatic efforts to halt the escalation.
After the meeting, Magro briefly told reporters: We continue our efforts and work to resolve the issue.
In turn, Berri praised the efforts undertaken by Emmanuel Macron and France to stop the war and facilitate the return of displaced people to their villages.
He also stressed the importance of adhering to the October 2024 Agreement on Lebanon-Israel tensions and the related mechanism committee as a practical and negotiating framework for implementing the agreement.
