Habka: We filed a criminal complaint to identify those behind the threats against MTV
The following statement was issued by by the representative of MTV and Chairman of its Board, Mr. Michel Murr, Attorney Mark Habka:
Following the cyberattack on MTV by a group calling itself 'Fatemiyoun,' and the large number of death threats directed at Mr. Michel Murr and journalists Dima Sadek, Khaldoun Jaber, Majdoline Lahham, Anthony Merchak, and Rami Naim through phone calls and threatening messages sent to their private phones, we have filed a criminal complaint with the Beirut Court of Appeal. The goal is to identify the perpetrators of all these crimes and refer them to the court in accordance with the applicable laws.
MTV and its Chairman place their trust in the Lebanese judiciary and state to protect and uphold the rights of their citizens. The threats and attacks faced by the station and its staff are solely due to their defense of the principle that the state has the exclusive right to protect its people.
