Prime Minister Nawaf Salam affirmed that the issue of disarmament is addressed in the ministerial statement, and we are all committed to it. There was no connection between it and the funds granted to Lebanon.
Following his meeting with Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri in Ain el-Tineh, he added: I haven’t made any statements beyond the ministerial statement. Speaker Berri is more than understanding, we remain committed to mobilizing support for reconstruction.”
On his relationship with Hezbollah, Salam said: I have left room for dialogue with MP Mohammad Raad, he and Hezbollah are welcome anytime they wish, and my doors are always open, whether at home or at the Grand Serail.
He also noted that we need more than $7 billion for reconstruction; our goal was to secure $250 million from the World Bank, and that is what we did.
