Aoun to Araghchi: Dialogue Should Prevail Over Violence
President of the Republic Joseph Aoun received Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi at Baabda Palace. The meeting focused on bilateral relations and ongoing regional developments.
President Aoun emphasized that Lebanon looks forward to strengthening state-to-state relations with Iran. He underscored that internal dialogue is the gateway to resolving all contentious issues, just as dialogue between countries should prevail over violence.
He also noted that rebuilding what was destroyed by the Israeli war on Lebanon remains one of the top priorities being pursued in cooperation with the government and with the support of brotherly and friendly countries, and in line with applicable laws.
For his part, Araghchi affirmed Iran’s support for national dialogue in Lebanon among the various religions, groups, and political parties. He reiterated Iran’s support for Lebanon’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as its efforts to end the Israeli occupation. He stressed that Iran’s support stems from the good relations between the two countries and from the principle of non-interference in internal affairs.
