Interior Minister Ahmad Hajjar visited the spiritual leader of the Druze community, Sheikh Sami Abi Al-Muna, at the Dar al-Ta’ifa in Verdun, Beirut, accompanied by Major Mohammad Al-Akoum and senior figures from the Druze sect’s council.
Sheikh Abi Al-Muna congratulated the minister on the successful completion of the nationwide municipal and local elections, commending the ministry’s efforts to ensure political stability and uphold constitutional timelines. He emphasized that the current phase demands unified efforts across state institutions and leadership to rescue Lebanon from ongoing challenges, restore confidence, and revive institutional life. He also reaffirmed the role of religious authorities in fostering spiritual and national partnership.
In turn, Minister Hajjar described the visit as “an honor,” praising the Dar’s constant call for unity, goodwill, and national cohesion. He highlighted the government’s neutral stance during the elections, affirming that “the state stood equidistant from all candidates,” thanks to coordinated efforts by the Interior Ministry, governors, district officials, and security forces. He expressed hope that this neutrality would continue to guide all future democratic milestones, including the 2026 parliamentary elections.
