Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received a delegation of families of the Beirut Port blast victims at the Grand Serail.
Spokesman William Noun stated that discussions centered on the stalled investigation and the need for the Interior Ministry to enforce any upcoming arrest warrants.
Noun emphasized the importance of preserving the Beirut grain silos as a site of collective memory, noting that a detailed preservation plan—funded externally—has been submitted in cooperation with the Order of Engineers.
PM Salam also met with Gabriel Ferneini, President of Rebirth Beirut, and members of the organization. The delegation presented ongoing efforts to maintain and repair traffic signals across the capital, as well as light more than 150 streets. They also discussed a new project, supported by Middle East Airlines, to illuminate the airport road—an initiative the Prime Minister praised and encouraged to be completed ahead of the tourism season.
In a separate meeting, PM Salam welcomed IMF Mission Chief Ernesto Rigo and Resident Representative Frederico Lima. Talks focused on the ongoing negotiations with Lebanese authorities and the necessary reforms to pave the way for a formal agreement with the Fund.
