Salam Warns and a Series of Calls Made
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam once again warned of the potential resumption of military operations on the southern border.
Salam made a call to Army Commander General Rodolph Haykal to assess the situation in the south and requested immediate action to conduct investigations to identify those responsible for the reckless missile launch that threatens Lebanon's security and stability.
Salam called for intensified efforts to track down the perpetrators, arrest them, and refer them to the competent judiciary. He emphasized the need to prevent the recurrence of such senseless actions, stressing the importance of completing the measures taken by the Lebanese Army to ensure that weapons are solely under the control of the state.
Salam also held a series of calls with Arab and international officials to apply maximum pressure on Israel to stop its repeated aggressions.
Salam reiterated Lebanon's full commitment to implementing Security Council Resolution 1701, the arrangements for ceasefire, and emphasized that the Lebanese Army is solely responsible for protecting the borders, with the Lebanese state being the sole authority on matters of war and peace.
