Berri leads a series of meetings at Ain El Tineh
Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri welcomed UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, at the second presidency headquarters in Ain El-Tineh.
Discussions reportedly touched on the general situation and political and field developments, in light of Israel's continued aggression and occupation of parts of southern Lebanon, and its violation of Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement.
Speaker Berri also received the head of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, former Minister Asaad Hardan, along with a delegation, with whom he discussed the general developments in Lebanon and the broad region.
On emerging, Hardan highlighted the paramount importance of national unity in the face of challenges.
On the other hand, Speaker Berri received a congratulatory cable from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, on the occasion of the holy Eid Al-Fitr.
In his cable, President Al-Sisi wished the two brotherly peoples and all the peoples of the Arab and Islamic nations further development and prosperity.
Berri also received a similar congratulatory cable from former Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
