Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel met with Dutch Ambassador to Lebanon Frank Mollen for talks on the country’s political landscape, the new government’s agenda, and the ongoing Syrian displaced crisis.
Discussions centered on Lebanon’s governance and the challenges facing the nation, particularly the direction of the new government. The issue of Syrian displaced persons was a key focus, with both sides stressing the need to facilitate their return to Syria.
Gemayel underscored the importance of restoring full state sovereignty, emphasizing that all weapons must be under the exclusive control of the Lebanese state.
Ambassador Mollen was also briefed on the Kataeb Party’s reconciliation initiative, which he praised as a significant step toward national cohesion.
The ambassador was accompanied by Jasper Kapteijn, Second Secretary for Political Affairs. Also attending the meeting were Kataeb Political Bureau member Joelle Bou Abboud and Foreign Affairs Department member Anthony Bou Abboud.
