Morcos discusses cooperation with FMM, meets Lebanese Tax Association delegation
Minister of Information Paul Morcos held a series of meetings at his office, focusing on international media collaboration and financial matters related to the ministry.
In this framework, Minister Morcos met with a delegation from France Médias Monde (FMM), which included Chairwoman Marie-Christine Saragosse, along with senior executives overseeing international development, distribution, and editorial operations.
Discussions centered on future joint projects, particularly the new collaboration between France 24 and Télé Liban, aimed at capacity building, technical support, and assessing the national broadcaster's needs.
Talks also explored the possibility of signing a formal agreement between the two entities.
Saragosse extended an invitation to Minister Morcos to visit FMM’s headquarters in Paris to finalize and sign the agreement.
Minister Morcos welcomed the initiative, expressed appreciation for FMM’s collaboration, and congratulated the organization on the opening of its new regional center in Beirut. He affirmed his willingness to visit France to advance the partnership.
Minister Morcos later met with Hatem Hatem, Secretary-General of the Lebanese Tax Association (LTA) and member of the Lebanese Association for Taxpayers’ Rights (ALDIC), accompanied by LTA Treasurer Hikmat Noufal.
The discussion focused on financial matters related to the Ministry of Information, particularly a review of the ministry’s proposed budget.
The delegation also addressed the importance of securing moral and financial support for Télé Liban, emphasizing its role as Lebanon’s national broadcaster and the need to prioritize its sustainability as a key platform for official news coverage across the country.
