Lebanese Army: Israeli Violations Prompt Reinforcement in South Lebanon
The Lebanese Army on Thursday issued a statement condemning ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement, including breaches of Lebanon’s sovereignty, attacks on its citizens, and destruction of southern villages and towns.
On December 26, 2024, Israeli forces advanced into several points in the Qantara, Adchit, al-Qusair, and Wadi al-Hujeir areas in southern Lebanon. In response, the Lebanese Army reinforced its presence in these regions.
The Army Command confirmed it is monitoring the situation in coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and the five-party mechanism supervising the ceasefire agreement.
