PM Nawaf Salam chairs weekly follow-up meeting on south Lebanon return and recovery efforts
Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Thursday chaired the weekly meeting to follow up on the return and recovery efforts in southern Lebanon and the affected areas.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Social Affairs Haneen El Sayed, President of the Council for Development and Reconstruction Mohammad Ali Kabbani, Secretary-General of the Higher Relief Council Brigadier General Bassam Nabulsi, President of the South Council Hashem Haidar, and Head of the Central Operations Room at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Zahi Shaheen.
Discussions focused on following up on the awarding of contracts for projects being implemented by the Council of the South and the Council for Development and Reconstruction in southern Lebanon and the affected areas.
Discussions also addressed the needs of steadfast towns in southern Lebanon, particularly in terms of fuel supplies and financial assistance for families.
Discussions also addressed prefabricated housing units, particularly in pilot areas, and the need to ensure that their use is accompanied by the provision of the necessary infrastructure, including electricity and water. The discussion also covered the removal of rubble along roadsides in the city of Nabatieh and follow-up on the Civil Defense Center project in Nabatieh.
