Israeli army: Hezbollah took control of the government hospital in Tebnine during the war
Israeli army spokesperson Ella Waweya wrote on X:
“Intelligence information that has just reached us reveals that Hezbollah took control of the government hospital in the town of Tebnine in southern Lebanon during the war. Hezbollah suffered large numbers of dead and wounded during the conflict and transferred them to the hospital after taking control of it, depriving Lebanese residents of essential medical services. After wounded members arrived at the hospital, ambulances belonging to the Islamic Health Authority evacuated them to Al Rassoul Al Azam Hospital in Beirut’s Dahiyeh, which is under Hezbollah’s control.”
She added: “This is not the first time we have revealed Hezbollah’s exploitation of Lebanese medical and government infrastructure to serve its military and terrorist needs and advance Iran’s interests at the expense of the needs and interests of the Lebanese people. The examples being revealed now once again demonstrate Hezbollah’s cynical use of medical facilities during the war. People of Lebanon, do not be deceived; Hezbollah’s takeover of hospitals and exploitation of medical infrastructure puts your lives at risk, prevents or delays your access to treatment and medical care during wartime, and may even deprive you of medical assistance in the future.”
She concluded: “To Hezbollah members who continue to hide beneath patients’ beds in civilian hospitals belonging to the Lebanese state: if you believe you are protected there, know that you are not immune from being targeted. The Israeli army will continue to operate wherever operational necessity requires in order to protect the security of northern residents and the citizens of Israel.”
