Sheikh Akl contacts Bukhari, calling for an Arab stance to stop the crimes against Druze Unitarians in Syria
Sheikh Akl of the Unitarian Druze Community, Sheikh Sami Abi Al-Muna contacted today Saudi Ambassador Waleed Bukhari to brief him on the developments in Syria’s Sahnaya and its surroundings.
Discussions touched on the need to hold an urgent meeting at the Druze community headquarters, including ambassadors of influential countries in Syria, to push for an appropriate Arab stance that would stop the bloodshed and halt the killing and abuse to which innocent civilians are being subjected in their homes and villages, in wake of the fabricated recordings and subsequent manifestations of takfir and extremism.
The Druze Sheikh Akl also called on the Syrian government and the decision-making powers to intervene immediately and halt the deteriorating security situation and the horrific violations and atrocities against the Druze Unitarians that have been taking place in villages near Damascus and on the outskirts of Sweida, raising fear of repercussions on Lebanon and other regions as well.
