Lebanon–UAE Joint Statement: Cooperation on Security, Development, and Diplomatic Ties
A joint Lebanese–Emirati statement was issued on the occasion of President Joseph Aoun’s visit to the UAE, reading the following:
“Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his keenness on joint cooperation and affirmed the UAE’s support for Lebanon’s security, stability, and sovereignty. President Aoun, in turn, emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and appreciated the UAE’s supportive stance toward Lebanon and its people.
The two sides agreed on familiarizing Lebanon with the UAE’s successful experiences in improving government performance and institutional excellence, facilitating travel for citizens by taking the necessary measures to ease mobility between the two countries, and expressed the desire to elevate diplomatic representation. They also agreed on the establishment of a joint business council, and that a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development would visit Lebanon to explore and assess potential cooperation projects.”
