Environment Minister Tamara Elzein participated in the “Global Ministerial Dialogue on Science Diplomacy” at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, following an invitation by the organization. The conference brought together ministers and delegations from UNESCO member states to explore a modern approach to science diplomacy.
Discussions focused on using science diplomacy as a strategic tool for the sustainable and transparent management of natural and scientific resources, addressing global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and emerging diseases.
On the sidelines, Minister Elzein met with UNESCO officials and Lebanon’s permanent representative, Ambassador Mustafa Adib, to discuss support for environmental projects.
