Justice Minister Adel Nassar said President Joseph Aoun’s visit to Tripoli carries significant symbolic value, underscoring the city’s importance and the state’s commitment to its development.
Speaking to MTV, Nassar said Tripoli plays a fundamental role and stressed that the government would take all necessary measures to help advance the city.
He also highlighted the significance of Aoun’s visit to the Palace of Justice in Tripoli, saying it sends a clear message of support for the judiciary. He stressed that the judiciary must serve as a trusted link between citizens and the state.
Interior Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar, meanwhile, said the president’s presence in Tripoli reflects the state’s attention to the city and its residents.
“We want to tell the people of Tripoli that we stand by you,” Hajjar said, expressing hope that the visit would help strengthen both security and economic activity.
He stressed that economic development cannot take place without security, adding that security itself is affected when economic conditions deteriorate.
