Shehadi: Lebanon takes key step toward digital government
State Minister for Technology Kamal Shehadi wrote the following on X:
“Lebanon has taken a major step towards digital government, with official electronic documents and electronic signatures now set to be used in public administrations.
The Council of Ministers approved the implementing decree regulating their use, prepared by the Ministry of Justice in cooperation with the Ministry of State for Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence.
The decree puts Law 81/2018 into practice and gives public administrations a framework to create, sign, exchange and securely store official electronic documents. It will allow administrations to gradually move away from paper-based procedures, while ensuring the security and authenticity of electronic records.”
