The Ministry of Finance has issued a statement correcting inaccurate reports attributed to Finance Minister Yassine Jaber regarding funds allocated to support those affected by Israeli attacks.
The ministry said that some media outlets incorrectly reported that only $50 million had been allocated for assistance. It clarified that this amount was allocated solely to the Ministry of Social Affairs from the state treasury.
The statement added that the Ministry of Social Affairs also received $200 million from the World Bank, as well as €45 million and an additional €32 million from the European Union.
In addition, the Ministry of Finance said it has provided tens of millions of dollars to the health sector through the Ministry of Public Health, as well as further funding through the Higher Relief Commission and the Council for the South for relief operations.
The ministry also noted that aid and support provided through the United Nations and humanitarian organizations exceeded $130 million.
The statement concluded that the clarification was necessary to correct the public record.
