Aoun chairs security meeting, follows up on municipal elections, cultural affairs
President of the Republic Joseph Aoun chaired a security and administrative meeting attended by Interior Minister Ahmad Hajjar, who briefed him on the progress of the second phase of municipal and mukhtar elections in the North and Akkar governorates.
The president also met with Minister of Culture Ghassan Salameh to review national and cultural matters, as well as the ministry’s current action plan.
Later, President Aoun received MP William Tawk, who discussed the electoral process in North Lebanon, particularly in the Bsharri district.
Tawk praised the state’s ongoing reform measures and highlighted recent legislation passed by Parliament aimed at restoring confidence in Lebanon’s banking and financial system.
