President of the Republic Joseph Aoun and his accompanying delegation left the Kuwaiti capital this afternoon, returning to Beirut, concluding an official visit during which President Aoun met with the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Kuwait Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, and senior Kuwaiti officials.
As he was leaving the Kuwaiti airspace, President Aoun sent a cable to Prince Mishaal, expressing his happiness over their constructive and fraternal discussions, and for the Emir’s commitment to continuing to support Lebanon and develop relations between the two countries.
The telegram read:
As I leave Kuwait with my accompanying delegation, I wish to thank you for the warm hospitality I received from Your Highness during my visit to your brotherly country, which reflects the extent of your love for Lebanon and its people.
I express my pleasure at the constructive and fraternal discussions I held with Your Highness, and the commitment you have shown to continuing your support for Lebanon and developing our two countries' relations in all areas that serve the common interests of our two peoples.”
President Aoun also wished the State of Kuwait further progress and success.
