Salam marks Women’s Day, stresses institutional recovery and gender inclusion
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam stressed that “restoring the wellbeing of institutions is the government’s supreme project to achieve recovery and sustainable development,” noting that “the role of women in leading and directing them is essential to the success of this project.”
Premier Salam also stressed that “the Reform and Salvation Government realizes that the responsibility in this regard is shared between the government and development partners, from non-governmental organizations, business community, and donors.”
Premier Salam’s words came during his patronage of a conference at the Grand Serail, entitled “Towards Inclusive, Accountable and Gender-Responsive Institutions”, organized by UN Women, in collaboration with the Institut des Finances Basil Fuleihan, marking International Women’s Day 2025.
The event was attended by Premier Salam’s wife, Mrs. Sahar, Ministers of Social Haneen El Sayed, Tourism Laura Khazen, and Environment Tamara Elzein, as well as MPs: Enaya Ezzeddine, Ghada Ayoub, Ibrahim Mneimneh, Firas Hamdan, Mark Daou, in addition to the Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for the United Nations Imran Riza, President of the Institut des Finances Basil Fuleihan Lamia Moubayed Bissat, and scores of ambassadors and representatives of United Nations bodies and international organizations.
