Samy Gemayel: We will stand by the president to fulfill his promises
Lebanese Kataeb Party leader, MP Samy Gemayel affirmed that the Kataeb Party will stand by the president to achieve the promises made in the inaugural speech, and we want Arab support to continue standing by us.
He added: We do not want to antagonize any country, but we categorically reject any country interfering in Lebanon and using our land as a missile platform, as Iran did over the past 15 years, turning it into a military base from which fighters were sent to defend Bashar al-Assad against his people. Following that came the support wars, for which we paid a heavy price.
He continued: The election of Joseph Aoun is a new chapter in Lebanon’s history, which we hope will be bright, with the international community standing by Lebanon to help it recover. Aoun is the first president elected after the war in a country free from any guardianship, and for this reason, his speech is unprecedented in the last 30 years.
