Lebanese Kataeb Party leader, MP Samy Gemayel received Head of the National Liberal Party MP Camille Chamoun, at the Kataeb headquarters in Bikfaya.
The pair discussed the latest developments in the Lebanese political landscape, particularly the presidential elections.
Following the meeting, Chamoun emphasized the importance of continuous consultations among opposition forces to identify the most suitable candidate for the presidency, highlighting the crucial role of this position in shaping Lebanon's future.
He clarified that this stage requires decisive and responsible decisions regarding the presidential candidate who can represent the aspirations of the Lebanese people and lead the country toward stability and prosperity.
Chamoun pointed out that Army Commander General Joseph Aoun is the most prominent candidate, expressing hope that favorable conditions will emerge to secure his election.
If this proves unfeasible, he affirmed that work is underway to explore an alternative option, selecting a figure capable of representing the opposition's vision and successfully leading the country.
He expressed optimism that ongoing consultations would result in a suitable alternative candidate by the 9th of this month.
The meeting was attended by Kataeb Political Bureau Member Lena Jalkh, Lawyer Samir Khalaf, Kataeb Leader Advisor Sassine Sassine and Head of the Kataeb Media Department Patrick Richa.
