The Forecasting Department of the Meteorological Service at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation expects unsettled autumn weather to prevail over Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin, with temperatures above seasonal averages, until Wednesday evening. The weather will then turn rainy due to the impact of a low-pressure system originating over the Black Sea, accompanied by cold air masses that will bring occasionally heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, active winds and a significant drop in temperatures.
Weather forecast for Lebanon:
Tuesday: Partly cloudy, with fog over the mountains and a drop in temperatures. Scattered rain is expected, particularly in northern areas, accompanied at times by active winds. Thunderstorms may develop in the northeast of the country.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy, with fog over the mountains and a drop in temperatures, particularly inland and in mountain areas. Clouds will gradually thicken, and the weather will become cloudy in the afternoon, with scattered rain accompanied by lightning, thunder and active winds.
Thursday: Cloudy, with fog over the mountains and a further drop in temperatures. Scattered rain is expected, occasionally heavy, accompanied by lightning, thunder and active winds.
Friday: Cloudy, with fog over the mountains and a drop in temperatures, bringing them below seasonal averages. Scattered rain is expected, at times becoming heavy, accompanied by lightning and thunder.
Surface winds: Southwesterly, occasionally active, at 15–35 km/h.
Visibility: Good along the coast and moderate in mountainous areas due to fog.
Relative humidity along the coast: 30–75%.
Sea conditions: Low to rough waves.
Sea surface temperature: 26°C.
Atmospheric pressure: 1,018 hectopascals, equivalent to 764 mmHg.
