Finance Minister Yassine Jaber announced an extension of the deadline granted to companies and shareholders who have not yet converted bearer shares and shares to order into registered shares, with the new deadline set for December 6, 2026, inclusive.
The measure follows legal provisions prohibiting joint-stock companies and partnerships limited by shares from issuing bearer shares or shares to order, while requiring companies that had previously issued such shares to convert them into registered shares within legally specified deadlines.
The Finance Ministry said successive legislation had extended the conversion periods, while other laws suspended legal, judicial and contractual deadlines during certain periods, requiring the available timeframe to be recalculated.
The ministry urged affected companies and shareholders who have not yet regularized their status to take advantage of the new deadline and complete the required procedures.
