In an effort to reduce traffic accidents and improve road safety, Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport commenced maintenance and repair work on several roads across the country, the ministry announced in a statement.
As part of these efforts, temporary repairs were carried out today at two locations, pending the completion of works under contracts with designated contractors:
- Elias Hrawi Avenue (opposite City Center): Temporary steel plates have been installed as a precautionary measure in place of expansion joints to prevent road accidents. These will be replaced with permanent joints once the scheduled works are executed.
- Batroun Coastal Road: Potholes along the coastal road in Batroun have been temporarily filled to ensure traffic safety until the assigned contractor begins the final repair works mandated by the ministry.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to improving Lebanon’s road network and enhancing safety standards across the country.
