National Defense Minister Michel Menassa met at his Yarzeh office, US Ambassador to Lebanon Lisa A. Johnson.
During the meeting, discussions reportedly touched on the general situation in the country, especially the situation of the military institution and the continued US support to it.
The discussion also touched on developments in south Lebanon.
Minister Menassa pointed out the Israeli occupation's persistence in evading its obligations and its repeated violations of Resolution 1701, stressing the necessity of a complete Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Lebanese territories. The Minister affirmed the army's full readiness to carry out its missions throughout the country.
Menassa later received Indian Ambassador to Lebanon, Muhammad Noor Rahman Sheikh, with whom he discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, especially the Indian contingent’s participation within UNIFIL.
The Minister of National Defense expressed his appreciation for the role played by the international force in south Lebanon.
Minister Menassa then received Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon Alaa Moussa, with whom he broached the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.” Menassa thanked Egypt for its constant support for Lebanon in all fields.
The Minister also met with former MP Amal Abou Zeid, over the latest developments in the country.
