Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty is set to arrive in Lebanon tomorrow (Friday), carrying a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to President Joseph Aoun.
In a statement, the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut indicated that Abdelatty’s Lebanon trip will be his third, and it aims at underlining Egypt’s support for Lebanon following the election of President Joseph Aoun and the designation of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to form the new government.
Th statement added that Egypt is keen on reactivating cooperation between the two countries, in all the economic and developmental fields, in addition to the enhancement of the bilateral political coordination.
According to Egypt’s Ambassador to Lebanon Alaa Moussa, Abdelatty will hold several meetings after his talks with President Aoun, including meetings with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, outgoing Prime Minister Najib Mikati, PM-designate Nawaf Salam, Outgoing Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib, and a number of political and spiritual leaders.
“The visit is the beginning of a new stage through which Egypt seeks to reinforce cooperation with Lebanon,” he said.
