Patriarch Bechara Boutros Rahi said that “Lebanon needs the light of wisdom, understanding, and the fear of God, and awaits officials inspired by the Holy Spirit in their decisions, and statesmen who preserve the country’s mission and role.”
In his Sunday sermon, he added: “We pray for the success of negotiations; whoever does good for Lebanon is a partner in its stability, and through its peace many feel reassured.”
He continued: “What we see of chaos and fear over Beirut calls for a responsible stance, as it was built on coexistence, and it must not be left alone without a plan and a present state.”
